Anne Marie Young
A native of Eastern Ontario, Anne Marie was born Prince Edward County and in the mid-sixties her family moved to the Morrisburg area where Anne Marie remained and later raised her family. She received her education in accounting at St. Lawrence College, Cornwall campus. Her working career spans over forty years and includes retail management, entrepreneurial consulting, and in the last 20 years – economic development. Her current position is Manager of Economic Development for the County of Frontenac; here one of her accomplishments is the development of 42 kilometres of the Frontenac K&P Trail which will reach from Kingston to Shabot Lake in 2017. Recently she was recognized by the Eastern Ontario Economic Development Commission as Economic Developer of the Year for her leadership in developing the Frontenac’s first Economic Development Charter and Implementation Plan and the County’s new brand system #InFrontenac; which focuses on three major themes: Trips & Trails, Local Food & Beverage and Recreational Lifestyle.
