Donnandale Farms is a 6 generation, 3 presently working, family owned and operated farm. It was established in 1914. We currently employ 7 full time (5of which are family) and 2 part time people. The farm has 3 main enterprises. Milk, energy, and cash crop. We milk 300 Holstein cows and have a herd of 650 head in total. Our Anerobic digester provides methane gas to power the engines that provide electricity to the grid and heat to the farm. The farm consists of 1700 acres of land which goes toward feeding the herd along with green crops for digester and some cash crop.
I returned home to farm following my graduation from Kemptville college in 1982 where my wife Jane and I raised 3 boys all of whom are currently on the farm.
