I have been employed with the CFIA since January 21, 2002, during that time I have held a number of permanent and acting positions at the field level such as Food Inspector, HACCP Auditor, Area Chemistry/Allergen Specialist and now Inspection Specialist. As an Inspection Specialist, I lead a team of inspectors responsible for the delivery of inspection related activities falling under the jurisdiction of the Food and Drugs Act , Consumer Packaging Act and any other applicable Acts and their Regulations. These activities frequently involve the coordination of food safety investigations that may lead to a recall situation and the assessment of food labels for regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining the CFIA, I was employed by a number of food companies where I assumed various roles in food processing and quality control. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Honour’s program – Major: Microbiology; Minor: Biochemistry) from the University of Guelph, Ontario and I am fluently bilingual (English and French).
