Trissia Mellor is the Agriculture Manager for Northumberland County.
A member of the Economic Development and Tourism department since 2006, she has developed and implemented numerous initiatives to support and recognize the contributions made by agriculture to the Northumberland economy.
Beginning with an agricultural action plan based on an exceptional best practice model she has forged a relationship with the agricultural community which includes utilizing technology to create market presence, agricultural youth engagement through industry partnerships, lead the Province’s first ever Regional Local Food Business Retention and Expansion Study and most recently is part of the leadership team for the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Centre, a fruit & vegetable value-adding processing facility which was built in 2014 as a direct outcome of the Local Food BR+E.
In 2014, Trissia participated in a CARILED Agriculture Economic Development mission in Jamaica. She is the County representative on the Board of the Northumberland Federation of Agriculture, and serves as Chair of the Board of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, an organization she’s volunteered with for over nine years.
